Linen fibers are obtained from the flax plant, which is extremely sensitive to care and cultivation. The fibers in the stem part of the flax plant surrounded by a hard shell are mostly harvested by hand in order to not to be damaged. In order to remove the fibers, which are in a very hard structure, without causing any damage, a meticulous work is carried out, mostly using intensive hand labor. The fibers obtained are converted into top quality linen threads in the deep-rooted Italian plants, adhering to the naturalness of the linen. Linen fibers, which are naturally covered with a waxy substance, acquire a much more beautiful form when used and washed.

ONE OF THE OLDEST FABRIC IN THE WORLD

Historical records show that the use of linen as fiber begins around BC. 8000. The oldest written sources showing the use of linen date back to 4,000 years. Linen, originally intended for use in Egyptian and Greek societies, was brought to southern Europe by the Phoenicians. The fact that some linen fabrics, in which the mummies are wrapped in Egypt, have remained intact, is considered proof of how durable the fiber is.

  • If you decide to wash it in the washing machine, we recommend using a clothing bag to protect it from the hooks and check the label with the washing information and symbols.
  • In both cases, a hand or machine, make sure that the garment is well rinsed, the remains of soap can leave stains on the fabric.
  • Do not use tumble dry and dry hanging with a hook in the shade.
